I am a fully trained, qualified and accredited therapist. I have over ten years experience working with people to overcome problems, such as depression, anxiety and addictions. I  originally trained in psychotherapy through University College Dublin, Ireland (based at St. Vincent’s University Hospital). I have also trained in London in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Goldsmiths University.

 

I have extensivley trained in and utilise mindfulness based CBT therapies, including, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

 

Empowering people to free themselves from unhelpful and limiting thinking and beliefs, become more self-compassionate and move towards living richer and more meaningful lives is a central value of mine (see client testimonials).

 

I am an accredited member of the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland (APCP). I am a member of: The Association of Contextual Behavior Science (ACBS) based in the US; The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Newer forms of CBT such as ACT are helping people learn and utilise mindfulness skills to comprehensively unhook themselves from troublesome thinking, emotions, urges and body sensations, and live richer valuable lives.
